Costa Rica June 2013
Sure was great to spend a few days with Charisa & Travis in Costa Rica.
Thank you so much for praying for us. Our Lord kept us safe and healthy.
Travis & Charisa are doing great. Thank you so much for praying for them.
It was a joyful and draining trip. I have never experienced oppressive humidity.
It was their rainy season. Where Charisa & Travis live, there is no a/c.
I am spoiled! We didn't sleep much. (I sleep too much anyway.)

Travis & Charisa are busy serving with the Pura Vida Church (puravidachurch.com)
in Esterillos, which is about 2 hours west of San Jose on the Pacific ocean.
The church is serving a village of about 500 people. The Sunday we worshiped with them they had about 100 people (and about 4 dogs) present.
They have about 75 percent local people and 25 percent gringos (white people) attending. They sang songs in Spanish, then in English. Dennis, the pastor, preached the Word in English, then in Spanish. As you can imagine, that could get very confusing,
but it is obvious that Dennis is specially gifted to do that.
It was a great joy to worship with those dear sisters and brothers.
Please pray for them. Pray for Dennis & Kyle and their children. They are in the process of building a new home. Theirs is being eaten by termites.
Lord willing, I would like to take a team back down to help them build and to help the church. Please pray about this with me.
If you are interested in going, let me know and I will keep you informed as the planning progresses.
One thing I was impressed with was how interested everyone was to get a copy of the Great News. I had made some cards with the Gospel printed in Spanish that I gave to people along the way. Just about every person I gave it to would immediately read it. I did not see anyone react negatively or throw it away.
As in every place in our world, the Truth is not widely know in Costa Rica. There is much religion, but little true Gospel being given.
That is one great reason for you to support the Pura Vida Church with your praying and giving.
